About Us
Sustainable clothing made close to Barcelona
Made slowly. Made honestly. Made in Barcelona.
We make clothes you will wear for years, and we can tell you exactly who made them, what is in them, and why every decision was made.
Why we started Pamuuc: a different way to make clothes
We are Ayse and Leo, and we started Pamuuc because we could not unsee what we had spent years watching. Inside the fashion industry, the model is simple: produce as much as possible, as cheaply as possible, then quietly move on from what did not sell.
The people making the clothes stay invisible. The waste stays unspoken. We did not want to spend our lives building another version of that, so we built this one instead.
Pamuuc began as a question: could we make clothes we were genuinely proud of, knowing who made them, where they came from, and why each piece exists? The name comes from pamuk, the Turkish word for cotton. A reminder that everything starts with the fibre, and with the care taken from that first choice onward.

How we make ethical clothing: certified fabrics, local production
Every material decision has a reason behind it. Our summer pieces use a cotton and linen blend, selected for breathability, structure and everyday comfort during warmer months. The linen is European Flax™ certified where documentation applies. Our dyes are OEKO-TEX® certified, keeping unnecessary chemicals out of the process.
For winter, we use extrafine Merino yarn selected for softness next to the skin, natural warmth regulation and a clean knit structure that holds its shape over time.
Production stays close to home. Cutting, sewing, dyeing, embroidery and labelling all happen through our partner network in and around Barcelona. For knitwear, we work with Sompunt, a specialist workshop in L'Espluga Calba, Lleida, with over 50 years of experience in knitting, linking, washing and finishing.
Pre-order fashion: how our small-batch model reduces overproduction
We do not follow trend cycles. Our collections are intentionally small, built around timeless fits, calm colours and pieces designed to stay in rotation season after season.
Rather than producing stock upfront and hoping it sells, we work in weekly pre-order batches. Orders are placed from Monday through Sunday. On Sunday at 23:59, the window closes. On Monday, we send the confirmed batch to production, only in the sizes and colours that were actually ordered.
It takes more planning, but it keeps quantities closer to real demand and avoids producing garments before there is a reason for them to exist. It also lets us keep pricing honest, covering fair wages, certified materials and the real cost of local production without unnecessary inflation on either side.

What we actually believe, and how you can hold us to it
We say we are transparent, so here is what that means in practice: every product page explains the workshop behind the piece, the certifications that apply to the materials and, honestly, the things we are still figuring out. If we cannot explain it clearly, we do not claim it.
We say production is fair, and we mean it structurally, not symbolically. Every person in our supply chain earns above the legal minimum and works in safe conditions. We visit our partners regularly, not because we want a marketing story, but because we want to know the people responsible for every seam.
We say our clothes are sustainable, but we would rather show you than tell you: pre-order production, certified materials from fibre to dye, and local partners that let us stay close to every stage of the process.
And we say fewer pieces, done well, because we believe restraint is a form of quality. Balanced proportions, calm colours and cuts designed to stay in your wardrobe across seasons rather than trend cycles.
Caring for your Pamuuc pieces: built to last
Clothes are meant to be worn. We design ours for durability, with strong seams, breathable fabrics and finishes that hold through regular washing and years of use.
Caring for them is simple: wash cool, avoid harsh chemicals and let them dry naturally. Small marks from production often come out with a damp cloth. If you ever need care advice for a specific piece, just ask.
Pamuuc is a small project, and we intend to keep that care as we grow. Staying close to our partners, our materials and our customers is what makes all of this possible.
We are not here to make more for the sake of more. We are here to make better decisions, one piece at a time.
Thank you for being here.
